About the work

A horned helmet, a steady stare, and a beard with a life of its own.

This Viking began as a hand-drawn sketch, with fine hatching shaping the helmet, face, and braided beard. The drawing was then vectorized, giving the final artwork heavier outlines and stronger areas of black while preserving the character of the original portrait.
