About the work

Puppy the sailor… toot toot.

Her stance was already doing most of the work. I drew over the photograph on my iPhone, turning that pose into exaggerated arms with oversized hands, a sailor outfit, and a pair of little boots. Her own face supplies the expression.

Part household snapshot, part cartoon character: a quick drawing that follows the joke already hiding in the photo.
